Smart choice for Redrow
Due to the adverse weather conditions Smartroof’s “room in a roof” system guaranteed Redrow Homes essential health and safety benefits such as no risk of falling gables and reduced hours of working at height. Alternative construction methods would have involved hat trusses therefore requiring free standing gable block work. This method coupled with the high winds experienced on site created increased health and safety risks for the team.
Jon Moss, Research and Sustainability Manager at Redrow Homes commented “I am pleased to say that from the feedback I have received from the Redrow North West Construction team, they were very impressed by the installation team. The design department also played their part in getting the production drawings completed. It has been a worthwhile exercise and hopefully NW will be using Smartroof for future projects”.
Produced off site and installed in just hours, Smartroof’s insulated roof panel system eliminated the need for purlins and ridge beams creating an internal space completely free from structural intrusions. Smartroof delivered major benefits to Redrow Homes in terms of site safety, thermal performance, quality assurance and crucially, speed of construction.
